Prof. John Dabeet - President
John Dabeet was born in Jerusalem, Palestine. Prof. John Dabeet is the Business Department chair and a distinguished professor of Economics and Statistics at Muscatine Community College, Muscatine, Iowa. Prof. Dabeet serves on several boards of directors for international, national, and local organizations.
Prof. Dabeet was a visiting professor at Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia; Vista University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa; Drohobych University, Drohobych, Ukraine, Alquds College, Amman, Jordan, Bir-Zeit University, Palestine.
Currently, he is serving on Muscatine Community School board as the President of the School Board, Sister Cities International Honorary Board in Washington D.C., Global Leaders Circle member, and Global Outreach Representative of Country Palestine on Sister Cities International Board. Prof. Dabeet is the president of Americans & Palestinians for Peace and Muscatine Sister Cities President. John was recognized by the Iowa Governor Terry Brandstad and Iowa House of Representatives and awarded the outstanding citizen award for his work in Citizen Diplomacy. In 2020, Professor Dabeet named Palestinian Person of the Year and in 2021, Dabeet received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Academic diplomacy Award. Prof. John Dabeet, served as a Foreign Policy Volunteer Advisor for Biden’s Foreign Policy team during his presidential campaign.
Recently, Professor Dabeet was elected to serve on Iowa Democratic Party Central Committee and the chair of the International Affairs platform for Democrats in the State of Iowa. Several International and National awards have been presented to Prof. Dabeet for his work in Politics, Citizen Diplomacy, and Education.
